February 2013 in a Nutshell

These last few weeks have been CRAZY!!!!!!! So much has happened. The new semester is about one month underway, and I have really enjoyed it. The first thing in all of this fuss was my school's Winter Formal dance. I went with my friend Ethan, and we had a blast! He surprised me A TON when he dropped this off at school for me to get.

I am a T.A. first period, and one day we got a call down to the classroom. The teacher wasn't available, so I answered the phone. It was pretty funny since they asked for me to go to the office at the end of the period, but it was actually me that they were talking to! I went down and found this extremely fuzzy bear along with a box of chocolates and an envelope with a note inside. The rest of the day, I got some silly looks as I carried these things around, and even got some remarks like, "who is your valentine?" One of the funniest things though was the way Nathan reacted. He LOVED the fuzzy bear! When he got to our fifth period class, he saw it and promptly picked it up and told me that he hoped I didn't mind that he was going to have it all period. He spent that entire class playing with it! I felt like such a creep taking this picture, but I couldn't resist since it was so hilarious.

I answered Ethan with a candy gram that I left in the stairway down to his bedroom while he wasn't at home. We had so much fun at the dance, at least I know that I had a good time.

Just the day after that was Nathan and Jordan's eighteenth birthday. I went up to their house to celebrate, and ended up staying past cake and presents. Those boys are way too goofy! Nathan took my phone and was texting my mom when she said that I probably needed to be heading home. Needless to say, she let me stay a little longer.

Yes, that is a picture of his chin. When he sent that picture to my mom, she just told him to shave, which is a longstanding joke between them since there have been times that he hadn't shaved in a while and she always gave him a bad time about it. It is still kind of funny though that he is eighteen!

Recently, my school's Spanish's Club hosted a volleyball night. Since I am on this club board and on the yearbook staff, I had the privilege of going to the event and taking pictures along with my friend Taylor. While there, I took some pictures of the school and I was stunned at how cool it looks at night with practically no one there.

Another super duper important thing that has happened this past month is that I got my track assignment for BYU-I. It felt like it was taking forever to come, but I am so glad that it finally came. Just a few days before it came, my mom sent me an email that said I could have whatever track I wanted. Then I got my assignment a few days later: Fall/Spring.

Since then, I have gotten to babysit my favorites again, and little Sophia has been so cute! She drew a picture of me last night, and has taken several silly pictures with my on my phone.

We haven't been the only ones to take silly pictures though. Priscilla, Mercedes, and Taylor have all taken my phone and left me with some funny pictures to laugh at.

Life has just been grand lately. From little things like wearing converse with Nathan and Jordan without planning it, to my mom wearing glasses around the house to "practice" for when she gets her glasses, or even just enjoying the sunshine and the fact that I can open my sunroof, I have enjoyed these past few weeks.

I have also had some silly run-ins with yearbook things, so I am sorry that most of you will not understand the humor in these following pictures.

One last thing...for mutual (my church's weekly youth activity) we had a photo scavenger hunt as part of the activity. Here are some crazy pictures from it.

Yeah, I would say that February was quite the adventure! I'm just exited to see what March will bring!

Picture Post

It has been a long past couple of months, but they have been filled with mostly good things. I am so glad that I have had a wonderful iPhone to document most of it in pictures. It also doesn't help that I have become addicted to instagram. So for those of you that hate the photo heavy posts, I will apologise in advance.

All of the pictures on this post have been taken from my iPhone since Christmas, and most of them have been shared on instagram. Correction: I took most of them, Nathan took some of them on his iPod and I got ahold of them and am using them on my blog. Since he got his iPod, we have practically been partners in crime, especially on snapchat and instagram. We have been blowing up everyone's feeds with silly pictures that we took together. I guess that's what happens when you have a best friend that will do silly things with you all the time.

He gets photo credit for all of those of us together except the one in the center when we were at school. Well, he took that picture too, but it was on my phone, not his iPod. He honestly makes my day! I love that we can be ridiculously silly without having to worry about people thinking we are weird since we just don't care. I might as well say what we were doing in all of these pictures, so the top left and right were from when we were downtown for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade, the top middle was just s one day at school, and the bottom was the Stinky Sneaker (aka the most amazing basketball game of the year that is a HUGE deal that we won!).

We have also driven everyone that follows us on instagram by
"mentioning" each other in several other silly photos that we take, like these ones (the ones on the sides of this that are pictures of Panda Express food, us with the Panda Express food, the picture of the puzzle art that we made downtown, and the picture of him with my brother photobombing the picture).

Besides instagram being loads of fun to use for sharing pictures of people, it has also been awesome for inspiring my to take pictures that are of other random things. Whether it be a picture of what I am doing or just something cool that I happened to walk past, I have loved the motivation to take pictures.

These are most of the silly pictures that have been taken either in the name of instagram or snapchat. It is so fun and has given me a chance to express either an artistic or silly side of myself depending on the occasion.

Some exciting news right now includes this: I got my acceptance from BYU-Idaho!

I was so thrilled to finally get my letter! Most of my friends started getting theirs two weeks before, and I made the priority deadline, but still had to wait a while. It's a good thing that I have been accepted since this is the only school that I want to go to and the only school that I applied for.

Some random good news from the last week was that I saw blue skies! It was warm enough for me to open my sunroof (which really wasn't that warm, but it wasn't so cold that I had to scrape my windshield in the morning).

There is some bad news though. I didn't die, but many people thought that I was delirious. I went ice skating last Wednesday night, and I slipped and fell a few times. That's normally not a big deal at all, but the last time, I hit my head really hard on the ice. I had a huge goose egg on the back of my head, and had to ice it all night. I didn't get a concussion, but it still wasn't a whole lot of fun. For the rest of the night, people were asking me questions as if I had a concussion. I got asked what day it was, what day my birthday was, how many fingers someone was holding up, and a bunch of other silly things like that. I was just fine though. The worst part was that everyone wouldn't leave me alone and that my hand was cold from holding the ice on my head for so long. It also was kind of painful to sleep on my head that night because the bump did hurt, and I toss around in my sleep, so I woke up several times in the night to turn because I had just turned to my back and it was hurting my head a lot.

One last AMAZINGLY COOL thing before I finish this post. My friend Aubrey, has the coolest water bottle in the world. How do I know? I have the same one. Yup, that's right! We match. Same color, style, and everything. We are so cool!

2013!!!!!!!!!

It feels like it has been so long since I have posted, and I though that having my blog on my phone would make it easier, it has just made it harder. Having said that, I am happy to finally be posting again. Since I posted last, I have: been on a blind date with a college guy, been to a human trafficking awareness meeting, started and finished my senior portfolio, and become a Instagram user. So practically, hat has bee what my year has been filled with so far. The best thing that has happened lately is that this past week has been he spirit week in preparation for the Stinky Sneaker at school. This is the BIGGEST event of the school year. It is he basketball game against our rival school. There is both the girl's varsity game and the boy's varsity game. The big deal of the whole event is not he game though. It is more of a spirit contest than anything. Everyone goes all out to the extent that they don't even care if it would otherwise be embarrassing. Because it is such a big deal, everyone pitches in and holds nothing back. I am so excited for this year's game because it's my senior year, so I am going to be more involved than ever before. More to come about the Stinky Sneaker!
