Impossible Threat

This past week has been CRAZY! No joke, things happened that I would have never expected to happen to me EVER! Take this one thing for example: my school, CV, got a bomb threat on Wednesday. We were told to evacuate at about 9:20 in the morning, and since we line up in our advisory classes when we evacuate, I happened to be at the very back (my adviser's last name is Whittaker, and we line up alphabetically). Because of this, I had to stand out in the POURING rain and wind for two hours while we waited for buses to take us off campus. I kid you not, we were on the VERY LAST BUS!!!!! It was terrible, but let me tell you, it was a great bonding experience for advisory classes.

We were cold and wet to say the least! We weren't even allowed to drive ourselves home. It seemed ridiculous to us since we were freezing cold and would have done anything to warm up, but the bomb squad just had to check everything and they didn't want us to go any closer to the school. I didn't have a coat or even a jacket on, but I am so glad that I had my rain boots and that I was at least wearing a long sleeved shirt, unlike Brittani (the girl with me in the first picture who is in my advisory class) who was wearing a thin summertime dress. Once I got home though, I had a nice warm bath, got into dry clothes, and had soup with apple cider for lunch. I finally got to go back to the school at 2:15 to get my backpack and car, but it was really funny to me that they still had all of the regular buses there to bring kids home "after school".

Yeah, I don't think I will have many weeks that are much more eventful than that!

Saint George

Last weekend I had the chance to visit Saint George, Utah. While there, I got to spend time with my dad's family-which was a blast. Let me tell you, I have the cutest little cousins and some super fun aunts that love to take us out to get frozen custard.

We went to Nielsens to get delicious frozen custard one night, and although it was kind of pricey, it was WONDERFUL!!!!! I had a chocolate custard with brownie bites mixed in. It was wonderful!

These are my adorable cousins Jordan and Sydney playing "Burrito" with my sister Emilee. This game was a created by Jordan's parents when I was a little girl. They would take my brother or I, wrap us up in a blanket, and pretend to eat the "burrito" that they had made. I told them about this game and they were instantly addicted and were having so much fun playing it.

It was quite an adventure flying there and back. I tend to have a HORRIBLE sense of direction. I drove my family to the airport on Wednesday morning before school, then drive my brother out to the airport after school on Friday. Thank heaven my brother has an excellent sense of direction though, so I didn't get us lost on the way there! We had a layover in Salt Lake City on the way there, where we met our uncle who flew with us on the flight into Saint George.

On the way back, we flew through Las Vegas, and I just about died when I saw this store while my mom and I were frantically looking for lunch before our flight left.

I showed Nathan this when I got home the following day, and he was hilarious and asked me if he had been the first thing that came to mind when I saw the sign. Since he is one of my best friends, I could easily tell him that I instantly thought of him when I saw it.

On the flight back home, Emilee took my phone and took some silly pictures since she was bored to death and had nothing to do.

Saint George is a beautiful place with all the red rock and gorgeous weather. I always enjoy visiting there when I get the chance!

Since getting back, I have locked myself out of my car and seen my school's production of "Little Shop of Horrors." The musical is fabulous, but locking myself out of my car wasn't.

"Little Shop of Horrors" is an intriguing dark comedy about a plant that eats people and involves abusive relationships. I know that doesn't make it sound like a whole lot of fun, but it was wonderful! Nathan plays the main character, Seymour, and his twin brother, Jordan, voices the plant. The two of them made an excellent pair along with the rest of the talented cast and crew. Nathan recolored and cut his hair for this play, which I actually don't think looks bad. Jordan cut his hair for the play as well since he doubles with Nathan in one scene, but he didn't dye his hair. He just spray dyes it each night for the performance.

I went with my good friend Dallas to go see it this last Friday night, and we definitely had a blast! I am going to go again with Emily and Derek this Thursday, which will be interesting since I have seen the show, but I don't believe either of them have.

The weather in Spokane has become GORGEOUS lately and it finally feels like spring might be on its way. The sunsets have been breathtaking, ranging from oranges and yellows to pinks and purples.

Hopefully the weather will continue to improve, and it will start to feel more like sandal weather! I certainly am looking forward to it!

February 2013 in a Nutshell

These last few weeks have been CRAZY!!!!!!! So much has happened. The new semester is about one month underway, and I have really enjoyed it. The first thing in all of this fuss was my school's Winter Formal dance. I went with my friend Ethan, and we had a blast! He surprised me A TON when he dropped this off at school for me to get.

I am a T.A. first period, and one day we got a call down to the classroom. The teacher wasn't available, so I answered the phone. It was pretty funny since they asked for me to go to the office at the end of the period, but it was actually me that they were talking to! I went down and found this extremely fuzzy bear along with a box of chocolates and an envelope with a note inside. The rest of the day, I got some silly looks as I carried these things around, and even got some remarks like, "who is your valentine?" One of the funniest things though was the way Nathan reacted. He LOVED the fuzzy bear! When he got to our fifth period class, he saw it and promptly picked it up and told me that he hoped I didn't mind that he was going to have it all period. He spent that entire class playing with it! I felt like such a creep taking this picture, but I couldn't resist since it was so hilarious.

I answered Ethan with a candy gram that I left in the stairway down to his bedroom while he wasn't at home. We had so much fun at the dance, at least I know that I had a good time.

Just the day after that was Nathan and Jordan's eighteenth birthday. I went up to their house to celebrate, and ended up staying past cake and presents. Those boys are way too goofy! Nathan took my phone and was texting my mom when she said that I probably needed to be heading home. Needless to say, she let me stay a little longer.

Yes, that is a picture of his chin. When he sent that picture to my mom, she just told him to shave, which is a longstanding joke between them since there have been times that he hadn't shaved in a while and she always gave him a bad time about it. It is still kind of funny though that he is eighteen!

Recently, my school's Spanish's Club hosted a volleyball night. Since I am on this club board and on the yearbook staff, I had the privilege of going to the event and taking pictures along with my friend Taylor. While there, I took some pictures of the school and I was stunned at how cool it looks at night with practically no one there.

Another super duper important thing that has happened this past month is that I got my track assignment for BYU-I. It felt like it was taking forever to come, but I am so glad that it finally came. Just a few days before it came, my mom sent me an email that said I could have whatever track I wanted. Then I got my assignment a few days later: Fall/Spring.

Since then, I have gotten to babysit my favorites again, and little Sophia has been so cute! She drew a picture of me last night, and has taken several silly pictures with my on my phone.

We haven't been the only ones to take silly pictures though. Priscilla, Mercedes, and Taylor have all taken my phone and left me with some funny pictures to laugh at.

Life has just been grand lately. From little things like wearing converse with Nathan and Jordan without planning it, to my mom wearing glasses around the house to "practice" for when she gets her glasses, or even just enjoying the sunshine and the fact that I can open my sunroof, I have enjoyed these past few weeks.

I have also had some silly run-ins with yearbook things, so I am sorry that most of you will not understand the humor in these following pictures.

One last thing...for mutual (my church's weekly youth activity) we had a photo scavenger hunt as part of the activity. Here are some crazy pictures from it.

Yeah, I would say that February was quite the adventure! I'm just exited to see what March will bring!
