Prom 2012

So it's that time of year here in good old Spokane Washington. Time for prom! The biggest, craziest, most expensive and stressful dance of the year. Each and every girl going has to find the PERFECT dress and shoes while having the perfect hair, makeup, and nails. Well, at least if you are as crazy as I am. Now believe me, I know I'm a little crazier than most people, but all of us girls want to look absolutely gorgeous on that night. My dear friend Mariah just got asked today and let me tell you, it was absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, she will definitely have a wonderful time! I mean come on, how many people get asked to prom on a reader board for all the town to see! I am so excited for her! She gets a date as amazing as she is! Now we just have to find her perfect dress so she can have that perfect night. We have already searched high, low, and everything in between. Now, I don't know where else to look, but we WILL find that dress!

But here is the other side of the story. I have to find a dress as well. I was asked to prom last Friday to go to our senior prom, so now I have to do the whole to do. But I am in a fun group, so it should be fun and totally worth it in the end. More to come as far as dresses and date updates!

Post Spring Break 2012

So we are back to our normal life (post spring break in Boise). Boise was wonderful with weather that was pretty nice the first day, then very similar to Spokane the other days, but barely warmer. I had the wonderful opportunity to go to seminary at Mountain View on Thursday and Friday morning. It was so fun to see everyone there. Friday afternoon, I got to go to Renaissance and see many of my good friends from there. It was so weird to be back in my old school and see how much it has changed, in the people that go there, the atmosphere of the school, and the building itself. While in Boise, my family and I went hiking at a favorite old spot of ours: Camel's Back Park. We were coughing the whole entire hike! It was quite the experience. It is so cool at the top of the hill though! You can see all of downtown Boise from the top, and you can tell why they call Boise the city of trees (it's really because they haven't been to Spokane or anywhere in the Northwest for that matter).

By the end of that week, I was very best friend deprived. My friend left for New York City the Thursday before we left for Boise. I really wish I could have gone with her because she had an amazing time there and go to go and do so many cool things.

This is her in time square (she doesn't know that I got this off facebook). They got to go to several Broadway shows and the empire state building, the statue of liberty, the Museum of Modern Art, and several other cool places as well. Needless to say, I was still glad that she got to go. She brought my family back souvenirs. I got one of those classic "I love new york" t-shirts. It was as close as I have been to going to New York. 

School update:
I figure that I might as well try to give an update on all the sections of my life, and this happens to be one that I spend a lot of my time at. I currently HATE chemistry and the amount of thought and memorization that it takes on my part. My brain doesn't think science at all, so I really don't enjoy having to put effort into that class. I recently re-maxed in weights and made a personal goal of a 100 pound power clean max! That was quite the exciting milestone, and I think, the second or third highest max for that lift out of the girls in my class! I also hold the second highest squat max of all the girls in my class. So, for the most part, I enjoy that class. In yearbook, we are almost done with the book! I am now working on the page for Mr. CVHS with the beautiful Kellie Watson! That means that I have the wonderful privilege of going to that hilarious event this Tuesday. I am certainly looking forward to seeing many of the guys at my school making total fools of themselves for our pure entertainment. US History is just history with all it's crazy quirks just same as it has been all year, so nothing new there. In jewelry, I am working on a beautiful ring! I will post pictures once it is done. I just reached a HUGE milestone on it: I finished half of the wire work!!!!!!!!!!! It is ridiculously small and time consuming. Just to give you an idea, I spent about a month just trying to figure out how to do the wiring, tried 10-15 times until I figured out how after spending a month trying to figure it out in theory, then it took me about and hour to do the wire work after figuring it out. To tell you how small it is, it is about 5/16 of an inch long and 1/8 of an inch tall. The tools that I used were the smallest tools I have ever seen, and they were still too big to do the project, but I figured out how to do it anyways. The band and adjusting the prong cup took me about a month before all the wire work began just to add to that list. So, I am very excited to say that it should be done in less than a month! In seminary, we just had "conference in general". I gave a short talk on Elder Eyring's talk from this last General Conference. Here is a link to it: Mountain's to Climb. It was a wonderful talk, and this event in seminary gave me a good chance to study it. In spanish, we just started the last chapter of our book. This means we are almost ready to start reviewing for our final! As of this last week, we have learned every single tense out there except for four, which we are learning in this next chapter of the book! After we learn that we will know all we need and then some to pass Eastern's college final (by the way, I am now a college student at Eastern Washington University because of this class). Next month, we are going on a field trip to Ranch Viejo (a Mexican restaurant) with all the 3rd year spanish students. I think that covers everything. Whew, that was long!

Opposition in all things (at the Jensen home)

So I feel like life is really throwing a crazy curveball at my family right now. Generally, we are a pretty healthy family and we rarely get sick. But, in the last month or so, everyone besides my dad has gotten sick. We have all had a nasty cough in our lungs, and julia has also thrown up, had a fever, and had an ear infection on top of it all. So I hope that the rest of us don't move onto that stage of this sickness, and that we all can get better really soon.
One reason that I want us to get better soon is because we are going to Boise for spring break this next week. I am sooo excited to go and see everyone there that I rarely get to see since moving to spokane. Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Spokane, but Boise will always have a special place in my heart since I spent seven years of my childhood there. So needless to say, I am looking forward to this trip.
Another exciting milestone for me is tomorrow. I will be able to drive other people starting tomorrow! My six months are almost over, which is soooo exciting! I have been waiting, and it is going to be so nice that the day is finally here!
Also, today and tomorrow is general conference! I really look forward to hearing the wonderful messages that will be shared.

6 month update (I guess?)

Hey, so I know that I haven't been on here in forever, but I will try harder to post more often since this is pretty much my journal. My life has been absolutely amazing lately, and I don't even know why! crazy, I know. I have gone on several dates, been super busy with piano, gotten my driver's license, and joined my school's yearbook staff since my last post. I have also made many new and wonderful friendships and strengthened the ones that I already had, a lot! I now have a new sister/cousin/neighbor/any position that needs to be filled! :)

So, as previously mentioned, I got my driver's license. My six months will be up on April first, and that's less than a month! I am soooooooooooooooooooooo excited (and then some)! Along with that, I got a car! It is my cute little 21 year old Honda Prelude! I LOVE it, and just recently named it "Flynn" (from Tangled). Flynn is navy blue (half-spray painted, but that's okay) and extremely fun to drive around. It has everything that I wanted in a car when I was little. It has: a sun roof, seat belts in the door, pop-up/batman headlights, and 2 doors-not 4. So, it is my good old boy basically. (pictures to come soon hopefully on my new blog)

That leads me to the next subject. My new blog. This will hopefully get my to write on here more often because I will try to post on here every time I post on there. My new blog is a documentation of my "senior bucket list". Two of my very dear friends (Kim and Liam) came up with the idea because I had one thing that I really wanted to do before I graduated from high school. The list got added to by them and me, and now the plans on the list are being checked off one by one. So, we will see how that one works out. Another thing was my wonderful Christmas. I got a marvelous trip to San Diego with my family. While there, I got to see many of my extended family members that I love A LOT! We also went to Sea World and the beach, but those aren't as exciting as cousins and other family members.

I also have alot going on in the piano side of my world. I just had a piano ajudication last Monday, which turned out okay. Now I just have to work on my six page song for another two months while I get to be finished with my one page song. Does it make sense? Normally, no. It only makes sense becuase I will be working on that song more becuase I have been entered into a festival and I am competing with that song. I also am now: the ward choir pianist, a ward organist, and the ward young women's music leader. I also have done alot of extra accompanying for many different people. I have done many random accompanyings for church events lately such as baptisms, singles ward choir, and other random groups. But, the best accompanying that I have done recently was playing for my fellow musician Aaron who plays the french horn. He needed a last minute accompanyist for his solo/ensemble event this year. He did really well, and got a superior. Yeah, we were pretty excited.

Summer wrap-up!

Hey guys! So I figured that I had better get all caught up on my summer! So I:

Went on Trek (with an AMAZING family!)

Went to BYS (and had the BEST group in the whole place-SAMSON!)

And last but not least of the huge summer activities...GIRLS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then post girls camp, we: moved, my mom had surgery, and I got my wisdom teeth out!

Yeah, so my summer was pretty amazing, as you can see! But that's not all, oh no, that is only the beginning! I had my 16th birthday and went on my first date (now my sisters think that I am going to marry him) that very night with a good friend of mine and wonderful fellow pianist. (check out this new video he just put out- it's AMAZING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh5j-KXPMJo&feature=youtu.be) They surprised me after we went to dinner because I thought that we were going to his house for a bonfire, when...SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran into my very own surprise birthday party! So I partied all that night just to go for another surprise birthday party of another good friend of mine the next day! that weekend was crammed with activities, but they were all worth it! Now...school starts tomorrow. :( Here we go, crazy jam-packed junior year!
